A Tempo 尋常心地
生活空間的靈魂,如日常節奏與情緒旋律譜寫而出的一首歌。
“a tempo” 是義大利文的音樂術語,意思是「以原速演奏或演唱」。
當「a tempo」標記在樂譜中,表示演奏者應恢復到曲目最初原始的速度,通常在樂曲速度有所改變之後使用。 而「心地」,在日文中有 「內心的感覺」之意,中文也正是源自儒家與佛語中的「心境意念」,心能生萬法,如地能長萬物。
空間如器,家空間的本質,實為其中流動的生活。回家,有如將一日的忙碌勞頓,回歸本我與家人伴侶的日常節奏,在親密感受的居所,尋回日常的感知心境。
The soul of a living space, like a song composed from the rhythms of daily life and the melodies of emotion.
“A tempo”—an Italian musical term—means “to return to the original tempo.”
When marked in a score, it signals the performer to restore the piece’s initial pace, often after a shift in speed. Meanwhile, the Japanese word 心地 (kokochi,こごち) conveys a sense of inner feeling, a notion that finds its roots in Confucian philosophy and Buddhism that means the heart and mind shape one’s perception—just as the earth nurtures all things.
A space is but a vessel; the true essence of a home lies in the life that flows within it. To return home is to gather the day’s scattered rhythms, to realign with oneself and loved ones, and to rediscover the quiet, unspoken harmony of everyday life.
進入玄關卸下奔波的風塵,在原來顯得敞開的空間中,設計團隊巧妙藉由樹立出中心廊柱創造過渡的廊道,帶來溫柔沉靜的層次景深。
沿著中軸廊道滲入暈染的光影步履,映襯出由溫潤的木質肌理鋪墊而來的和緩舒適;空間由此一剖為二,將寢室的私空間,與客廳、餐廳的開放起居區域做出了適切的劃分與過渡。
Stepping into the entryway, one sheds the dust of the day’s journey. In what was once an open expanse, the design team has skillfully introduced a central column, shaping a transitional corridor that lends the space a sense of gentle depth and quietude.
When walking along the central corridor, the soft interplay of light and shadow enhances the warm and inviting texture of the wooden surfaces, fostering a sense of calm and comfort. This thoughtful intervention subtly divides the space in two, creating a transition between the private bedrooms and the open, communal flow of the living and dining areas.
中軸廊柱將無形的動線劃出有形的次序。靠近玄關的一側,首先迎來熱鬧溫馨的煙火氣,將原來的牆面打通,成為開放式廚房及用餐區。
餐桌區由主持設計師所設計一張柔和、不規則造型的木質餐桌,消彌了刻板的稜角邊界,桌腳處異材質的拼接跳色,在形體與材質的輕重層次上,內斂精巧的取得了平衡,亦添饒富興味的意趣。幾把餐椅,配上一盞來自英國燈具品牌 Original BTC 百年工藝的骨瓷吊燈;乳白色骨瓷波浪般褶子,如輕輕旋轉的裙襬,釉光溫潤清麗,妝點灑落了雅致的氛圍。
廚房區域則順應原始的管線結構,信手捻來,自然修飾為一體造型。保留了廚具的基礎配置,卻減去上方的封閉櫃體改採開放收納;比起掩蓋遮擋,更為隨意自如的生活感騰出揮灑的空間餘裕。
同樣的減法,亦落在餐廳木質餐櫃的設計考量。有別於常見連通天地的封閉櫃體,為落地的量體留出上方空間,維持天花的疏通流動,將虛、實對映出安定舒展的氣息。
The central column transforms the invisible flow of movement into a sense of order. Near the entrance, one is first greeted by the inviting warmth of daily life, where the original wall has been opened up to seamlessly connect the kitchen and dining area, fostering a natural sense of openness.
At the heart of the dining space, a custom wooden table designed by the lead designer softens the room with its fluid, organic form, while the contrasting materials at its legs introduce a playful yet refined touch of color. The delicate balance between form and texture is both subtle and exquisite, infusing the space with an understated charm. Surrounding the table, carefully selected dining chairs are paired with a bone china pendant light from British brand Original BTC, renowned for its century-old craftsmanship. Its milky-white porcelain shade, pleated like the flowing hem of a dress, glows with a soft, luminous sheen—elevating the ambiance with effortless elegance.
In the kitchen, the design follows the natural course of the original piping and structure, seamlessly refining it into a cohesive form. Retaining only the essential cabinetry, the upper storage is left open, replacing conventional enclosed cupboards with a more fluid and effortless approach to daily living. This philosophy of openness extends to the dining area’s wooden sideboard—unlike traditional full-height cabinetry, it leaves space above, allowing the ceiling to breathe. The interplay of solid and void creates a sense of harmony, where structure and lightness exist in quiet equilibrium.
The kitchen area follows the natural course of the original plumbing, seamlessly integrating it into a cohesive design. While preserving the essential layout of the system kitchen, the upper cabinets have been replaced with open shelving, introducing a sense of ease and fluidity to daily living. This philosophy of subtraction extends to the wooden dining cabinet as well. Unlike conventional floor-to-ceiling units, this freestanding design leaves space above, allowing the ceiling to breathe. The interplay of solid and void creates a balanced sense of openness—grounded yet airy, structured yet expansive.
一旁主廊道銜接的牆面鋪上了深深淺淺的白,透出隱隱暖意; 在弧面轉角的下方切出壁爐般的一角,儘管並不帶火電,卻實現了屋主鍾愛的爐火意象,成為各方視野的端景一隅。
轉角弧線與寢室拱形的門片相映成趣,兩間寢室內,同樣維持了櫃體上方空間的通透,免於空間的侷促。大面的窗景透過百頁,兼容了適當的隱蔽性與內外有別的敞開之感;即使身處內室的寢間,也能感受一日光景的舒暢悠然。
寢室外隨廊道延伸的壁面,逐漸推進光影的變奏。拱門一側點綴如符號般的圓形雙壁燈,選自美國的獨立設計燈具品牌 RBW,通過翻鑄的實心玻璃紋理,將光影輻射出低調的情緒波動。弧形牆面並施以帶有光澤的馬來漆,又稱威尼斯灰泥,在不同層次的白中,好似油彩為空間抹上一筆細緻幽微的靈光。
The wall along the main corridor is layered in subtle gradations of white, exuding a quiet warmth. Beneath the curve of the corner, a recessed niche takes the form of a fireplace—though absent of flame, it manifests the homeowner’s fondness for the hearth, becoming a focal point from every perspective.
The softened curvature of the corner finds resonance in the arched bedroom doorways. Within both bedrooms, the cabinetry is designed with open space above, maintaining a sense of airiness and preventing visual heaviness. Expansive windows, fitted with shutters, strike a thoughtful balance between privacy and openness, allowing light to unfold gently throughout the day. Even within these intimate spaces, one can experience the tranquil rhythm of shifting daylight.
Beyond the bedrooms, the corridor wall extends in a gradual play of light and shadow. On one side of the arched doorway, a pair of circular sconces was selected from RBW, an independent American lighting brand. Crafted from cast solid glass, they emit a textured glow, infusing the space with a quiet, atmospheric depth. The curved wall itself is finished in a lustrous Malaysian lacquer, also known as Venetian plaster, its delicate layers of white appearing as if a brushstroke of light had been softly swept across the surface.
順著緩緩的弧線像翻閱空間的書頁,轉入客廳,首先梳理了光影比例。
有光的吸引與影的隱沒,有明暗的過渡,才能映襯出立體層次、氛圍底蘊,並引導出方向性。因此,設計團隊將原來雙面採光的落地窗,僅保留了連貫視野的一面,而將另一側截至中段高度,作為沙發背後的隱藏儲物空間;不著痕跡地自百頁及紗簾間,調節篩落了恰如其分的線性光景。
家具擺件如浮島般一一落定,寬厚質樸的大型主几將日常的瑣碎化零為整,成為主空間的定錨;是生活風景也是閒情逸致的陳設平台,亦為家人間的共處留有自在的餘裕。
而落地的主沙發簡約且不失靈巧的模組設計,則是來自 Mario Marenco 於1970年的經典之作 Marenco Sofa。Marenco Sofa 開啟了義大利設計於70年代解放精神的先例,既保有了現代性的純淨雋永,亦兼容了生活樣貌的悠閒寫意;襯上幾塊同樣具有 70年代風格氛圍的幾何圖案抱枕,素雅之中突顯了玩心。
Following the gentle curve, like turning the pages of a book, one enters the living room—where the dialogue between light and shadow has been carefully composed.
It is the interplay of light’s presence and shadow’s retreat, the subtle gradation between brightness and dimness, that brings depth, atmosphere, and a natural rhythm to the space. With this in mind, the design team preserved only one side of the original floor-to-ceiling windows to maintain an open, uninterrupted view, while the opposite side was enclosed midway to create hidden storage behind the sofa. Adjustable louvers and sheer curtains subtly filter the daylight, allowing it to cascade in measured, linear compositions.
Like islands floating in an open expanse, each furniture piece is thoughtfully placed. At the heart of the room, a substantial, unembellished coffee table serves as an anchor—transforming scattered daily objects into a cohesive whole. More than just a functional surface, it becomes a platform for life’s quiet moments, a focal point that balances both practicality and leisure, offering a generous setting for family interactions.
The sofa with its understated yet versatile modular design, is none other than Mario Marenco’s 1970 classic, the Marenco Sofa. A pioneering piece in Italian design, it embodies the liberated spirit of the ’70s, balancing modernist purity with an effortlessly relaxed sensibility. Paired with geometric-patterned cushions that echo the aesthetics of the era, it introduces a refined yet playful touch, enriching the space with a sense of time and character.
「日出而作,日落而息」彷彿已成久遠的過去。從前人們的日常作息總離不開日光的變幻流轉,而今現代生活的節奏,卻像隨時都有未讀的訊息與插播的廣告。
但是「回家」,就像樂譜間以小寫悄悄標記著的 「a tempo」,提醒著演奏者: 回到原始的速度。
透過光影鋪陳、質地與細節的打理,物件形制的雅趣與編排,返璞歸真,或許是最難得亦是生活最美的樣子。
The days of “working at sunrise and resting at sunset” feel like a distant memory. Once, daily life moved in harmony with the shifting rhythms of sunlight. Now, the pace of modern living unfolds like an endless stream of unread messages and intrusive advertisements.
Yet, going home is like the quiet “a tempo” marking in a musical score—an understated reminder to return to the original rhythm.
Through the interplay of light and shadow, the meticulous curation of textures and details, and the elegant arrangement of objects, perhaps the purest and most beautiful way to live is to embrace simplicity.
