　　設計師鄭士傑曾表示：「空間隨著居住的成員不同，機能規劃也有所不同。」現今的住宅空間，除了家庭式規劃，熟齡未婚及離家背井到外地工作的住戶據增，使得雙人及單人套房需求多，機能性小坪數空間是此類住戶居住的重點，如何將空間極致運用，則是考驗著設計師創意及功力。

 　　這間位在中和10坪Loft空間的「Cube House」設計案，住戶欲將此規劃成有客廳、書房及臥室等使用機能的單人住宅，鄭設計師鄭士傑了解住戶需求及喜好，保留了空間原本無隔間的開闊性及流動感，故使用空間家具化手法，將獨創的三角形幾何形大型木作家具擺放於空間中央，以木作的三個面向規劃出客廳、書房及臥室等三個空間，各具獨特風景及機能，展現出「麻雀雖小、五臟俱全」小空間極致創意規劃術。

　　「Cube Huse」大量採用生活感的暖灰、白色及木質調等大地色系，更玩趣地加入金屬色澤，以及鮮豔的海藍色與芥末黃，揚起空間的活潑感。整體風格走向「前衛復古風格」，帶著60年代的科幻情迷，既有經典極簡輪廓，又大量使用金屬及塑料質感，在在營造出平凡生活之外的奇幻想像。客廳區的部份，設計師於木作上打造一張復古風格L型長條的駝灰色沙發，讓使用者可舒適坐躺；而方形木作椅座特以圓角收邊造型，展現經典優雅的線條；椅背右上方還設計一個嵌入式的長方玻璃展示架，其沁藍背景加上底層打光設計，讓木作增加幽浮般的趣味性及時尚感；沙發前方的牆面貼上木板材亮面烤漆的弧形背板，鑲入電視機，與上方的弧形樑柱相連成白色的曲線，演繹成未來太空艙美學。書房區部分，展現絕佳的收納性，寬闊桌面旁的木作隔出三個層架，上方可放置書籍，下方則可收整大型物件。臥室區部分，除放置一張單人床，更在木作上設計一組靠床的衣櫃，以中空版材質及弧形造型，帶來太空艙的想像；衣櫃裡設置光源，夜間光源經過中空版透出，朦朧而溫暖，可作夜燈機能使用；此外，設計師考量住戶有展示照片的需求，於是於床旁的牆面上附加一塊長度到地板的風化木板，以自然紋理染色的方式，使臥室區帶來一點隨性生活的氛圍，一旁則是齊掛著一片長型穿衣鏡，方便穿搭需求。

　　除了極具機能性的大木作家具，空間整體最讓人注目的，是大型木作、天花板燈飾版及茶几等大小不等的導圓幾何三角造型，彼此相互呼應，創造空間視覺焦點。光線部分，採用投射燈與間接燈，營造環境氛圍，也打亮空間的細節重點；此外，更善用戶外自然光源，運用雙層蜂巢簾，引入溫柔浪漫的光質。再者，設計師更採用一些他所為此空間獨家設計的家具，妝點環境氛圍，帶來實驗玩趣。例如：客廳區擺放一張幾何玻璃台面茶几，下方採用金屬圓底座與放射式木板排列，讓整體產生極簡強烈的形象。窗台旁的長凳，使用可以反照環境光澤的白色大理石當做椅面，底下則採用材質衝突的不鏽鋼，以鐵網圓柱腳呈現，猶如女性絲襪般的性感，讓觀賞者帶來視覺驚喜。此外，更設計有毛絲面不銹鋼板材的大型鞋櫃、以及芥茉黃的玻璃烤漆的大拉門，跳脫顏色、材質的一致性，製造視覺玩趣，更帶來未來感十足的太空美學。

Designer Shih-ChiehJeng is firmly convinced that the planning of a space should vary according to its user’s needs. This is especially true when it comes to the design of modern residences. Apart from family living space, the demand for single or double suites is also on the rise due to the increase of the populations choosing to stay single or working in foreign cities. Packing as many featuresas possible in a limited space is the major point in such cases, and also the main challenge for designers’creativity and proficiency.

Cube House is a 30.24 m2 Loft suite in Zhonghe District. After discussing with the owner about the requirements and preferences, Jeng divided the suite into three separate areas—a living room, a study and a bedroom—while managed to maintain the openness and fluidity of the space. Abandoning conventional partitions and adopting the idea of “space furniturization”, Jeng placed agiant triangle multifunctionalstructure in the center of the room. The three sides of the original wooden structure indicate the three individual areas required, making the small suite a versatile, cozy living environment.

The mainstay of Cube Housewas formed by colors in earth tone, such as warm gray, white and brown, which gives the suite a casual, homey feeling.Meanwhile, metallic finishes and bright colors are wittily used to embellish the suite, whichbrightens up the whole space. On the one hand, Jengfollowed the classical minimalist design; on the other, he included abundant metal and plastic materials, attempting to bring the science fiction fancy back in the ‘60s into real life and createaretrofuturistic style. In the living room, dove gray cushions are settled on one side of the wooden structure, comprising aretro L-shaped couch featuring elegant curves. On the upper right corner of the seat back, a built-in display case with azure backboard and bottom lighting looks amusingly like a UFO in the dark. Right in front of the couch, a TV set is embedded in a high gloss wall panel, the curve of which goes all along to the rounded corner of the beam above. In the study, next to the big table is a three-layer shelf with great capacity. Not only books but large items could be stored here. In the bedroom, aside from a single bed, there is a closet built in the wooden structure. Reminding people of a space capsule, the closet made of PP hollow sheet enables the illumination inside to stream through at night. The soft, warm light serves well as nightlight. What’s more, to satisfy the owner’s requirement for photodisplay, a largepiece of weathered board is attached to the wall beside the bed. The board, dyed but still maintaining its original texture, brings a relaxing air to the bedroom. Next to it,  a full-length mirror for personal grooming is hung.

Lighting is also a significant aspect in Jeng’s design. Projecting lighting and indirect lighting are utilized to create the atmosphere wanted and highlight certain items and details. Sunlight is also allowed to shine gently in through the double cellular shades. In addition to the pivotalmultifunctional wooden structure, other furniture and the ceiling panel also catch people’s eye with their geometric forms and shapes. They go perfectly well with one another and develop a harmonious style together.Take the table in the living room for example. The rounded-corner-triangle glass tabletop is supported by a metal circle base on which three boardsare fixed radially, presenting a strong minimalist style. Many other pieces of furniture are Jeng’s original designs. For instance, the bench beside the window has a glossy white marble surface and fourstainless steel wire cylinders as legs.Viewersmay be surprised at the conflicting combination of marble and stainless steel,yet at the same time theymay also find their fantasy about sexy silk stockings aroused by the wire cylinders. Other Jeng’s unique ideas include a large hairline finish stainless steel shoe cabinet and a sliding door with mustard yellow baked enamel finish. Intentionallygoing for unconventional designs and translating out-of-the-box ideas into innovative items, Jengsuccessfully introduced futuristicspace age into Cube House.

 「空間は居住者の構成に応じて作られるべきだ」と、鄭士傑は言う。現代では家族生活も少人数化し、高齢独身者、単身者一人、あるいは夫婦二人暮らし等における居住空間の需要が高まり、それとともに小スペースの空間に対するニーズが増えてきている。こういった小スペース居住空間で課題となるのが、機能性である。いかに空間を最大限に利用するかがデザイナーとしての腕と創造力の試されるところである。

　「Cube House」は中和区、１０坪程の一人住まいのための居住スペースである。限られた空間をデザインするにあたり、まず壁を用いることなく空間元来の形を保つことを目指した。つまり壁を作るのではなく、家具を用いて空間を仕切ることにより広々とした開放感、機能性のある流動感の両方を備えた空間を創り出した。中央に配された三角幾何学の大きな木製家具はデザイナー自らがデザインしたもので、同一空間内に、居間、書斎、寝室という３つの空間を生み出した。それぞれが独自の景色及び機能を備えており、「麻雀雖小、五臟俱全」（「スズメの体は小さくとも五臓を備えている」）という諺の意味する通り、「小さくとも必要なものは全て備える」独創性豊かな空間が生まれた。

　「Cube Huse」では温かみのある白と木質調のアースカラーに加え、金属の色艶やオーシャンブルー、マスタードなどの鮮やかな色を大胆に用いて、より活き活きとした空間を創り出している。無駄を削ぎ落とした輪郭、大量に用いた金属やプラスティックの質感による60年代のSFを想起させる要素は、日常生活の中に鄭士傑自身が提唱する「前衛復古」というスタイルの景色を創り上げている。居間スペースにはくつろげるよう、デザイナー自らデザインした駱駝色のビンテージ風L型ソファーが置かれ、その木製の枠組みは四角を基調にしながらも、角を丸く仕上げることで、クラシックかつ優雅な曲線を生みだした。背もたれに部分的なガラス板がはめ込まれたディスプレイは、背景のアクアブルーを下方からライトアップするデザインとなっており、木製の質感の中に浮かび上がるその様子はスタイリッシュな趣を添えることに成功した。ソファーと向かい合う壁に掛けられた丸みのある背板は、ペンキにより光沢仕上げがされ、テレビ上方の梁柱から連続的に連なる滑らかな白の曲線も、近未来的なまるで宇宙船を彷彿させるものである。書斎スペースは収納性に富み、広々としたデスク脇には三層になる棚が枠内に設けられ、上方には書籍を、下方にも十分な収納スペースがある。寝室にはシングルベッドと衣類棚が設けられており、プラスチック製の中空構造版や弧を描くその形も未来的なイメージを想起させる要素としてデザインされている。衣類棚の内側にはライトが設置され、光を透過するその材質により、夜間にほんわかとした温かな灯りとして使用することもできる。写真が趣味だという居住者の希望により、ベッド脇には豊かな雰囲気を醸し出す床まで届く長さのアンティーク加工の木版を設置、写真の展示スペースとして提供された。大型のウォールミラーも、居住者の利便性を配慮した空間となっている。

機能性に富んだ大型の家具以外に目を引くのは、天井に取り付けられた特製のシーリングライトとテーブルである。丸みを帯びた大小異なる三角幾何学の形はそれぞれ呼応し合い、小さな空間において多様なパースペクティブを生み出している。直接光と間接光を巧みに用いることにより空間を演出するシーリングライト、柔らかな透過光を室内に導く、窓辺のハニカムブラインドなど、いたるところに光を活用した空間デザインが採用された。さらに鄭士傑自身がデザインした家具は独自性に富んだもので、リビングルームに置かれたガラステーブルはその円形の金属板から放射線状に伸びる三枚の木版が、強い存在感を放つ。窓辺に置かれたベンチは座面に白色のマーブルを用いた。ステンレス材により幾何学的に編まれた４脚は、斬新な視覚効果を与えている。他にもヘアライン加工のステンレス製靴棚やガラスコーティングを施したマスタード色の扉など、鮮やかな色使いと材質の選択は斬新さに満ち、近未来的な美しさに満ちた空間づくりに役立っている。
